Otto Paulus Neu

Otto Paulus Neu, 96, of Tinton Falls died Saturday December 19, 1998 at Gateway Nursing Home.

Born in Berlin, Germany, he grew up in Hungary and lived some time in France.  He immigrated to Manhattan, New York, in 1960 where he lived until he moved to Tinton Falls in 1998.

He is survived by John Neu (a 90 year-old brother), a son Robert Neu of Red Bank (now of Salt Lake City), two sons Gideon Neu and Harold Neu of Australia, and a daughter Eva Geiger of Australia, 17 grandchildren, and at least 11 great grand children.

Funeral services were held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Reynolds Drive in Eatontown at 11 a.m. followed by internment at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown, New Jersey.

He joined the church in 1927 in Denzig (today Gdensk) Poland.  He was a member in France from 1930 to 1960.  In particular he was active in the Paris Branch until going to New York in 1960.

In New York he was active in the Manhattan wards.

In the late 60's and 70's he visited his childhood Hungary and contacted the few members of the church there.
